2011 - 2012 YOGA TEACHER TRAINING
200-Hour Registered Yoga Alliance Certification Program
Instruction inspired by the Iyengar Tradition

Teacher Training at The Yoga Room School of Long Island/Drishti Yoga Studio is primarily inspired by the Iyengar tradition, where precision in alignment and the appropriate use of Props is stressed. Our Yoga Teacher Certification program is a seven-month course, starting on September 20, 2011.

Our Directors [back to top]

Christine (Cirelli) Corsa, E-RYT-500 is a graduate of The Yoga Room School of Long Island where she now co-directs the training of aspiring teachers in Asana, Philosophy, Yoga History, and Meditation. Certified and registered with the Yoga Alliance at the 500 hour level, she continues her primary studies with Lucia Tucci DiPalo, her teacher since 2002.

Christine holds a BFA in Dance from Adelphi University with a minor in Psychology. Her studies in the former have given her a deep appreciation for the importance of proper alignment, while the latter sparked an interest in the deep connections to be found between Psychology and yogic philosophy. She firmly believes that all aspects of Yoga are equally important, and is currently studying Ayurveda and continuing her study of Yoga history and Yoga Sutras of Patanjali under the mentorship of Georg Feurstein, Indologist and renown author of over 30 books.

Lucia Tucci DiPalo, E-RYT, is a certified Yoga Teacher dedicated to the practice of Iyengar Yoga since 1978. She has been teaching in that tradition since 1991. Lucia teaches with gentleness yet firmness, integrating the release of muscles with postural alignment. She is a member of the B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Association of Greater NY, California Teachers Association, New York Yoga Teachers Association and an active member and former president of the LI Yoga Association. Lucia has been the director of The Yoga Room since 1997.
